State Road 202 from the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge to State Road A1A Resurfacing
Overview
Overnight detours are set to begin Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. throughout the resurfacing project on J. Turner Butler Boulevard (State Road 202) from the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge to Third Street (State Road A1A), weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting. Drivers can expect intermittent detours on J. Turner Butler Boulevard (State Road 202)/Third Street (State Road A1A) interchange ramps, Sanctuary Parkway and Marsh Landing Parkway. Motorists are advised to plan accordingly, prepare for longer-duration commutes in the area and monitor signage for information about detour routes. Traffic will be maintained in accordance with FDOT design standards throughout the project. No lane closures will be allowed from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on J. Turner Butler Boulevard (State Road 202), from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Marsh Landing Parkway and from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Sanctuary Parkway. Construction for this project began Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024. Preferred Materials, Inc. was awarded the contract to complete this $6.5 million project, which includes milling and resurfacing the roadway as well as base work, shoulder treatment, lighting, highway signing and other incidental construction. Completion is expected in summer 2025, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.
