Santa Fe Crossing is a new commercial complex on the southwest corner of U.S. 441 at NW 174th Drive at 16300 NW U.S. 441, Alachua, FL 32615. The proprietors of Santa Fe Crossing are proposing an access connection to an existing full access median opening that does not meet current FDOT spacing requirements. To meet FDOT spacing requirements, the median opening will be modified to be a directional median opening (allowing eastbound and westbound left turns but restricting lefts from the access points on either side of U.S. 441). This modification will provide a safer movement by directing traffic to turn right and then make a U-turn at the next median opening. Information about the project, including the traffic study and site plan for the development, is available for review at nflroads.com by selecting “Alachua County” and clicking on “Future Projects.”
With this notification, FDOT is seeking input from property owners who may be impacted by the proposed changes. If you would like to comment on the proposed median modifications, please send your comments to Permit Manager Bradley Adams at (352) 381-4316, Bradley.Adams@dot.state.fl.us or by traditional mail at 5301 NE 39th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32609.
Public comments regarding the proposed median modifications will be accepted through Jan. 21, 2023. Mail-in comments must be postmarked on or before Jan. 21, 2023.
