Arazoza Brothers Corporation has been selected to complete this landscaping project along I-295 from State Road 9B to J.T Butler Boulevard (State Road 202). The corridor project consists of landscaping and irrigation with a focus upon the SR 9B, Baymeadows Road and Gate Parkway interchanges. Plantings are expected to include, but not limited to Loblolly Bay (Gordonia lasianthus), Eagleston Holly (Ilex x attenuate ‘Eagleston’), Southern Red Cedar (Juniperus silicicola), Muskogee Crape Myrtle (Lagerstroemia x ‘Muskogee’), Sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua), Bracken’s Brown Beauty Magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora ‘Bracken’s Brown Beauty’), Sweetbay Magnolia (Magnolia virginiana), Slash Pine (Pinus elliottii), Southern Live Oak (Quercus virginiana), Sabal Palm (Sabal palmetto), Bald Cypress (Taxodium distichum), Winged Elm (Ulmus alata) and Argentine Bahia Sod (Paspalum notatum). A two-year establishment period is included in this landscaping project.
Traffic will be maintained in accordance with FDOT design standards throughout the project. No single lane closures will take place from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and no double lane closures will take place from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Additionally, no lane closures will take place from 6 a.m. Friday through 9 p.m. Sunday.
