County Road 361B over Rocky Creek Bridge replacement
Overview

Construction will begin on a project to replace the CR 361B Bridge over Rocky Creek in Taylor County Monday, Nov. 27, 2023. Constructed in 1950, the bridge is reaching the end of its useful life and is due for a full replacement.

As part of the project, a long-term detour will begin Monday, Nov. 27. FDOT expects the detour to be in place through spring 2024 while crews perform bridge construction operations, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting. During the closure, traffic will be detoured as follows:

  • Drivers east of Rocky Creek will detour to Paul Poppell Road, right on Wright Road, left on U.S. 19 and left on Blue Road to reconnect with CR 361B.
  • Drivers west of Rocky Creek will detour to Blue Road, right on U.S. 19, right on Wright Road and left on Paul Poppell Road to reconnect with CR 361B.

FDOT selected Anderson Columbia Construction Inc. to complete this $5.4 million project by summer 2024, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.
