FDOT has proposed modifications to a median on Southeast Hawthorne Road (State Road 20) at Southeast 20th Street in Gainesville, FL for a proposed UF Eastside Urgent Care center. The anticipated facility will be 8,900sq and will include a RTS Park and Ride. The current median doesn’t meet spacing requirements needed for this development and FDOT is proposing modifying the existing open median into a directional median to comply with current spacing requirements. The proposed changes include removing the Southeast 20th Street eastbound left turn lane, removing the westbound to southbound movement, modifying to only allow right in/right out movements and removal of three parking spaces. The UF Eastside Urgent Care entrance will allow for right in/right out and left out movements for the new south approach.

With this notification, the Florida Department of Transportation is seeking input from property owners who may be impacted by the proposed changes.
