I-295 West Beltway Landscaping from the Buckman Bridge to Old St. Augustine Road
Overview

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a landscaping improvement project on the I-295 West Beltway from the west of Old St. Augustine Road to the Buckman Bridge in spring 2022, weather and schedule permitting.

Various species of Florida-friendly vegetation will be planted along the interstate rights-of-way, ramps, ponds and other areas including Cathedral Live Oak, Bald Cypress, Cabbage Palm, Sweet Gum, Holly, Muhley Grass and Saw Palmetto. The project also includes installation of temporary irrigation systems to support the new plantings.

The $1.8 million project is expected to be complete in fall 2024, which includes a two-year establishment period.
