Northwest 39th Avenue near Northeast Second Street proposed median modifications
Overview

The proposed is for a modification to an existing full median on Northwest 39th Avenue (State Road 222) to include a directionalized median opening just after the intersection of Northeast Second Street. Dollar Tree has requested a permit to develop a facility for commercial use on the south side of 39th Avenue between Northeast Second Street and the railroad crossing to the west of the site.

To maintain safety and manage access to the proposed site, FDOT would require the developer to convert the existing full median opening into two directional turn lanes on 39th Avenue to better meet current FDOT requirements. Westbound traffic on Northwest 39th Avenue will access Dollar Tree by utilizing the left turn lane into the parking lot. The developer would fund this construction at no cost to taxpayers.
