I-295 Express Lanes from SR 9B to JTB
Overview

The project includes the construction of two additional 12-foot travel lanes (tolled express lanes) in each direction, improving interchanges at J. Turner Butler Boulevard, Gate Parkway, Baymeadows Road, and State Road 9B, constructing noise walls along I-295 in various locations, building drainage ponds and installing electronic tolling systems at various locations for toll collection.

Public Hearing (Thursday, December 5, 2019)

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to attend the subsequent Public Hearing for the proposed improvements to I-295 from SR 9B to J. Turner Butler Boulevard (SR 202) in Duval County, Florida. The Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Adam W. Herbert University Center (Grand Banquet Hall), 12000 Alumni Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32224. The hearing will begin at 4:30 pm to give you an opportunity to review the exhibits and talk one-on-one with FDOT staff. A formal presentation will take place at 6:30 pm followed by a public comment period.

The FDOT is constructing Express Lanes on I-295 from SR 9B to J. Turner Butler Boulevard (SR 202) to improve travel reliability and to provide additional capacity and long-term mobility options. This subsequent Public Hearing is to present changes made to the project currently under construction. These changes include increasing the number of general use lanes to three in each direction. The Department is also evaluating the feasibility of adding/extending noise barriers in the project area, along with a few additional minor improvements. FDOT encourages you to get involved and provide comments regarding the social, economic, access management, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements.
